Nigerian Afrobeats star Adekunle Kosoko, widely known as Adekunle Gold, has announced a significant philanthropic effort through his foundation, dedicating $20,000 to empower organizations working with the sickle cell community. The initiative, dubbed "WE'RE NOT DONE," is a collaboration between the Adekunle Gold Foundation and the financial platform PESA (JoinPesa Inc.). This program aims to provide crucial funding to select organizations, enabling them to expand their reach, strengthen existing programs, and deepen their impact in offering healthcare, education, advocacy, and patient support to individuals affected by sickle cell disease.

The "WE'RE NOT DONE: AG Foundation Sickle Cell Impact Initiative" was launched on October 20, 2026, and will initially support four organizations across different countries. These beneficiaries include the Sickle Cell Advocacy Management Initiative in Nigeria, Not Just You in Canada, Sickle Life in Ghana, and It Takes A Village in the United Kingdom. Adekunle Gold, who has openly shared his personal journey with sickle cell disease, emphasized the initiative's goal of translating awareness into tangible action and providing practical resources to those on the front lines of sickle cell support.

Pesa's Head of Global Growth and Marketing, Tosin Olaniyi, stated that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to offering meaningful support to those affected by sickle cell disease, particularly within Nigeria and broader Black communities. The collaboration seeks to combine funding, advocacy, and visibility to create a stronger sickle cell ecosystem and deliver measurable, long-term impact. The Adekunle Gold Foundation, established in 2023, has consistently focused on improving the lives of individuals with sickle cell disease through enhanced healthcare access, advocacy, and public awareness.
